The Journey

GeeBeeX came about as a way to document projects, share information and also to sell retro computing and gaming products. I found there is so much scattered information, so others can easily find.

About GeeBeeX

I started with a Commodore 64 back in the 80s going through the Amiga Journey until the day I sold up to buy a PC for University. But nothing could replace my interest in the earlier machines, especially the 8 bit days.

I still have some of my original computers but now living in Japan my collection has grown significantly. Commodore started it all for me but there is so much more I want to explore, learn and build.

Authenticity

Original hardware, honest condition grading, and no reproductions passed off as genuine.

Documentation

Every machine has a story. We write them down so the knowledge isn't lost.

Preservation

Restoration over replacement. We fix what can be fixed and source what can't.

Community

The retro computing scene is global and generous. We aim to give back as much as we take.

Who is GeeBeeX?

Founder & Editor

G.B. Cross has been collecting retro hardware since the late 1990s, starting with a battered Commodore 64 picked up at a car boot sale for two pounds. What began as curiosity became an obsession spanning hundreds of machines, thousands of floppy disks, and one very patient family.

With a background in electronics engineering and a deep love of computing history, G.B. launched GeeBeeX to share the knowledge accumulated over three decades of hands-on restoration work.
